EDCORE
EDCORE
EDCORE is membrane electrode apparatus, with smooth surfaced seamless and tubular ion exchange membrane that was unaware of common sense.
Since it is nearly free from fouling, membrane break and wrinkles, it is applicable to electro deposition painting of automobile, building material, house appliance, etc. , desalination and concentration.

FEATURE
1
"EDCORE" is a Membrane Electrode Apparatus using Tubular Ion Exchange Membrane with seamless, smooth surface, which represents a major departure from the prevailing notion that Ion Exchange Membranes must be made and used as flat sheets.
2
Use of "EDCORE" for an extended period of time produces almost no deposition of paints. This also reduces a possibility that paint deposit will be stuck to painted products resulting in a defective coating film.
3
The structure of freely tracking the swelling property of Ion Exchange Membrane in wetting condition avoids breakage or wrinkles of membranes.
4
There are no chance that water will permeate through membranes due to a water pressure difference. Water permeability with respect to a water pressure of up to 0.8 MPa is zero.

PERFORMANCE AND SPECIFICATION
disk "EDCORE" is available in an open type, sealed type and embedded type depending on the place where it is installed and includes two types of membrane : Anion Exchange Membrane and Cation Exchange Membrane. (Table-7)

"EDCORE" is mainly used as a diaphragm for electrodeposition coating. Electrodeposition coating requires not only basic ion transfer performance but also physical strength. "EDCORE" is a Tubular Membrane Electrode Apparatus that meets these requirement. The electrode solution is supplied from the Electrode Solution Inlet at the top into the electrode. After descending in the electrode, the Electrode Solution ascends from the bottom between the outer surface of the electrode and Tubular Membrane. (See a sectional view in Fig.11)
In the case of an Anion Exchange Membrane, free anion in the electrodeposition coating bath move from the painting bath to Cathode. Then free anions permeate the Anion Exchange Membrane , move to the electrode solution, connect with H+ ions produced at the anode to form acid and discharged from the upper overflow nozzle together with the Electrode Solution.
In the case of Cation Exchange Membranes as well as Anion Exchange Membranes, anions in the electrodeposition coating bath move from the painting bath to the anode. However, the Cation Exchange Membranes prevent anions from permeating to the Electrode Solution, whereas H+ ions permeate the Cation Exchange Membranes and acid remains in the painting bath as it is.
