Toshihiro Takaoka, Representative Director and President

ASTOM Corporation was established in 1995 as a joint venture company between Tokuyama Corporation and Asahi Kasei Corporation to manufacture hydrocarbon-based ion exchange membranes. In 2004, ASTOM was reorganized with wider business scope by unifying both company’s functions of development, manufacturing, and sales and marketing of ion exchange membranes, electrodialysis equipment, and related systems. I have been assigned fifth president of this company.

Based on a core technologies of ion exchange membranes and electrodialysis equipments that selectively and efficiently separates and concentrates ionic substances in various solutions by using electric energy, our products are being widely used as essential key for ion control processes in many customers across various fields such as salt production by seawater concentration, drinking water production, desalination and purification of food and pharmaceutical intermediates, recovery of valuable substances, and waste liquid treatment.

Astom Corporation has been pursuing to become a leading company in ion exchange technologies with an remarkable presence all over the world. Through continuous dedication of our technological and human resources and challenges for further improvement, we are committed to providing high quality products and services that will bring more efficient solutions to our customers.

We all will keep working to meet broad and social needs for improving the global environment, energy, health and safety that contribute to the ideal concept of SDGs by further explorations to the potential of ion exchange technologies.
